Dexter is the first male Anatolian Shepherd to join Black Acre Farm, and we are excited to have him as a future breeding prospect.  We're looking forward to watching him mature and seeing what he brings to our breeding program.

Dexter comes to us from H&L Acres in Virginia, where he comes from established working lines and a commitment to ethical breeding, sound structure, and correct breed type. His breeding reflects the qualities we value in Anatolian Shepherds: strong livestock guardian instincts, a good temperament, and the physical soundness necessary to perform the job they were bred to do.

First and foremost, Dexter is a working livestock guardian, but he also competes in AKC conformation shows. He made an impressive start in the show ring, earning Best of Breed at just nine months old. He also earned his AKC Puppy of Achievement certificate, an award recognizing puppies that accumulate points through their success in eligible puppy competitions before their first birthday. 

Dexter takes his responsibilities seriously. His people and livestock are his top priorities, and he has the natural protective instincts and discerning temperament we value in the Anatolian Shepherd breed. 

Although his primary job is protecting our farm, it's equally important to us that Dexter can confidently navigate busy public spaces, travel, and participate in the show ring. He continues to impress us with his ability to balance his natural guardian instincts with the composure needed for conformation showing.

We're excited to watch Dexter continue to develop, both as a working guardian and in the show ring, and look forward to seeing what the future holds for him at Black Acre Farm.
